The Read to Excel program will challenge children to read and give individual attention to each child. Lessons will be designed to engage students to read about real world experiences that include various themes (i.e. financial literacy, animals, plants, transportation, geography etc.). Students will engage in hands on exercises and read more related to the selected themes to become experts on the topic. Parents/guardians are expected to participate in periodic reading events with their children. The program will be held after school, on Saturdays and during summer camps. The program will be held in facilities such as schools, community centers, and churches.
